The ramp that rises to the altar, to the south, in its extension. 32 amot long and 16 wide, it starts from the ground and reaches the surface, its last two amot overhanging the yessod and the sovev, with a little air between it and the altar. Two small ramps branch off from it: to the east toward the sovev, to the west toward the yessod. In its west face is the revuva, a one-ama niche where disqualified bird chatat offerings were placed; to the west stand two tables, of marble for the limbs and of silver for the vessels; to the east, on the floor, the heap where the terumat hadeshen is set down. The altar has no staircase: the Torah forbids it.

Project decisionAdopted: the sides of the two small ramps according to Rashi (Zevachim 62b), the sovev to the east, the yessod to the west. Set aside on one point: Rashi starts the sovev ramp at the foot of the kevesh; the tour starts it 18 amot from the altar to leave the place of the deshen free. Choices of the tour: the thickness of the head, the width of the air gap, the placement of the revuva and of the two tables.
