Kiyor

The bronze basin on its stand, placed between the Ulam and the Mizbeach and offset to the south. Ben Katin fitted it with twelve taps, and a mukhani so that its water would not be disqualified overnight: a wheel that lowered it into a well.

Project decisionAdopted: the mukhani is a wheel that sinks the kiyor into a well (Abaye, Yoma 37a; Bartenura on Tamid 1:4). Set aside: according to the Rambam, as Bartenura reports, it is an unconsecrated vessel around the kiyor in which the water stays overnight. Mishkan: the bronze and the stand come from Shemot 30:18; the Mishnah says nothing about them.
