The Holy of Holies: a room 20 amot by 20, under 40 amot of height, that is roughly 9.6 meters by 9.6 and 19 high. In the tour, no light enters it; the Kohen Gadol lights his way there by the embers of his fire-pan. At the center stands the Even HaShetiya, and on it the Ark. He sets the fire-pan of embers between the two bars of the Ark and stands there for the sprinklings. Only one person enters it for the service, one day of the year: the Kohen Gadol, at Kippur.
