Whoever wished to donate a vessel to the Temple threw it into this chamber. Once every thirty days the treasurers opened it: whatever could serve the upkeep of the Temple was kept, the rest was sold, and the money went to the chamber of the Temple's upkeep.

Project decisionNo source places this chamber or the Chamber of Secret Gifts: the Raavad wonders at it, quoted by Melekhet Shlomo (Tamid 3:5), and Mishnat Eretz Yisrael suggests that they too opened onto the Ezrat Nashim. The tour places them beneath the Ezrat Yisrael, with the Levites' chambers: a choice. Also a choice: the shut bronze door, the opening for throwing in the gift, the heap of vessels. One does not enter: it was opened only once a month.
