Gates of Chulda

The two gates of the south, “used for entering and exiting”: it is through them that the people go up to the Har HaBayit and come back down. The Mishna does not say where they open in the wall. Middot 2:3 gives the gates a height of 20 amot and a width of 10, and the Rambam (Beit HaBechirah 5:2) says so explicitly of the gates of the Har HaBayit. Like every gate of the Temple except Tadi, they are capped with a lintel, not an arch. The tour sets a timora on each of their jambs, taken from Ezekiel.
