Project decisionTour's choice: the Mishna says Shushan was depicted above the gate (Middot 1:3), without saying how. The bas-relief — a rampart and three towers — is designed for the tour, as is the gate's position on the axis of the Temple: Middot does not locate the gates within the wall.
