Four garments of white linen, the thread doubled six times: kutonet, mikhnasayim, avnet, mitznefet. The Kohen Gadol wears them only on Yom Kippur, for the service proper to the day. After the second immersion he puts them on for his bull, the lots, the incense and the blood brought into the Kodesh HaKodashim, then the scapegoat; he may also read the Torah in them. The tour shows him at each step in its place, only once at a time.

Project decisionTour's choice: for the Torah reading the tour keeps him in linen rather than in his own white robe. No figure enters the Kodesh HaKodashim: the machta set between the staves is enough there. The gestures and exact places at each step are choices, following the Mishna's indications.
