Every day of the festival they circle the altar once, saying: “Please, HaShem, save now! Please, HaShem, grant success now!”; on the seventh day, seven times. On leaving they say: “Beauty to you, altar!” The Rambam says they circled with their lulavim in hand; Bartenura, with the aravot. Only the kohanim circled: an Israelite does not enter between the Ulam and the altar.
