The towns of the ma'amad gather in its town, and in the morning the officer says: “Arise, let us go up to Zion, to the house of HaShem our God.” Those nearby bring fresh figs and grapes, those far away dried figs and raisins. The ox walks before them, its horns overlaid with gold, a crown of olive on its head. At the Har HaBayit each takes the basket on his own shoulder — even King Agrippas — and goes in as far as the Azara.
