When the water from the Shiloach reaches Sha'ar HaMayim, they sound teki'a, teru'a, teki'a. Through this gate the tzelochit of water for the festival libation is brought in — hence its name, according to Abba Yose ben Chanan; Rabbi Eliezer ben Yaakov adds that the waters bubble up there, and will one day flow out from under the threshold of the House.
